The vineyard of Els Plans, the origin of Carlania. It is the first vineyard planted by the winery, is where you start to write your story, passion for things well done and authentic.
Merlot planted on foot Richter-110 in 1997. The farm plans Biodynamic cultivation of 2 hectares located at 510 m altitude. It is located in a poor soil area with very low rainfall throughout the year. The texture of the earth is frank-burdensome with a lot of river stone.
These climatic and soil conditions give Merlot vineyards some fruits with an optimum degree of maturity and resulting in a wine with a strong personality.
Control of the ripening process of the fruit, giving great importance to the grape tasting. Harvesting at the optimum moment manually and selecting the grapes in the same farm. Fermentation at a temperature of 23 to 25 ºC and a maceration of 8 to 15 days depending on the maturity of each variety.
Aged for 12 months in old French oak barrels.
